commission process
a brief walkthrough to commission your own pet portrait, in 5 simple steps.
discussing your portrait
first, please carefully read through all commission information on this page, as well as the terms of service. then, request a portrait by filling out an order form or reaching out to me via email! i'll send you an email response shortly after to discuss your vision and specific details for the portrait, including special requests, pricing, the timeline, etc.
planning your portrait
next, i'll ask you to send me a few photos of your pet. i'll use these images, along with any special requests you may have, to create a mockup: a quick plan of your vision for the portrait (i am able to help you create this vision if necessary!)

secure your booking
once you’re satisfied with the portrait details and the mockup, i'll provide a link to my Etsy store listing to pay for the deposit and book your portrait.
a $25 deposit must be paid to secure a booking; the rest of the payment can be made later. full payment must be made before i begin painting the final portrait.
approving the sketch
after payment is made, i will create a sketch for the final portrait, sharing it with you for your approval. if necessary, any revisions can be made before i begin painting.

i'll create your portrait and provide regular updates on its progress. once the painting is finished, varnished, and safe to deliver, i'll carefully pack it and send it your way!

the medium used to create the portrait is water mixable oil paint on canvas, which is sealed with a gloss varnish. this preserves the painting, gives it a glossy finish, and enhances its colors, ensuring it will last for many years to come!
i currently take orders from the United States only.
we can discuss a turnaround time that works, depending on the specific requests you have for your portrait. to give you an idea, each portrait typically takes around 2-4 months to paint, depending on the artwork size, the number of pets, and complexity.
additionally, the painting must be fully dried and varnished for me to ship safely. drying time can range from 2 weeks to around 2 months. this depends on how big the portrait is, and how thick the paint application/layers are. i will be able to give you a rough estimate for the time it takes for your painting to dry based on your order.
if you are purchasing a portrait as a gift, we can work out a reasonable turnaround time that meets your deadline. however, i strongly recommend placing an order several months in advance. i book clients 1-3 months ahead of schedule, plus the time it takes to create the painting, wait for it to dry, and ship it out to you.
